Dr Nithin Thomas
Founder. Chief Executive Officer
Nithin founded Klarytee in 2021 and is the inventor of the patented technology that underpins Klarytee’s data-centric security.
​
Nithin is a second-time founder. Prior to Klarytee, he co-founded SQR Systems as a spin-out from the University of Bristol, based on his doctoral research in Transcoding Architectures for Encrypted Digital Video. Under his technical leadership, SQR rapidly secured multiple ground-breaking R&D programmes with UK and US defence and national-security agencies.

​With over 20 years of technology experience and multiple patents to his name, Nithin is an internationally recognised authority in data-centric security, cryptography, and the secure use of AI. His work spans both research and real-world deployment, and he has advised senior stakeholders at the highest levels of government and industry in the UK and the US on security-critical and national-infrastructure programmes.

​He holds a MEng in Computer Systems Engineering and a Phd in Electrical and Electronic Engineering – data encryption from the University of Bristol. Nithin is recipient of the Shell LiveWIRE Innovation Award and the Global Security Challenge, sponsored by the US government.

Elisabetta Zaccaria
Co-founder. Chief Strategy & Growth Officer
Previously, Elisabetta was an early C-suite at Global Strategies Group, serving as Board Director and Group Chief Strategy Officer and COO (2006-2012). She was instrumental in building the startup into a $600 million-revenue UK–US defence company within six years. She played a central role in executing $150 million in tech acquisitions and two major exits—a $117.5 million Nasdaq IPO and a $315 million PE sale.
Later, she was a strategic advisor to HM Government on the UK National Cyber Security Strategy (2016-2021) and was appointed the first Chairman of the Board of Secure Chorus Ltd (2016-2019), a government-funded technology standards organisation, with members including the UK NCSC and Fortune 500 companies.
In 2014, she became one of the first Entrepreneur Mentors in Residence at LBS’s Institute for Entrepreneurship and Private Capital. Since 2008, she has also held numerous NED, committee, and board advisory roles across AI, cybersecurity, defence tech investment companies, start-ups and scale-ups.

She holds a Master of Laws from the University of Ferrara and a MA in International Relations from Hult International Business School. Her executive education includes Corporate Finance, Private Equity, and Strategy (LBS); ESG Risk Management (University of Cambridge).

She is the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution to Europe’s Cybersecurity (SC Awards Europe, 2021), 50 Most Influential Women in Cyber Security UK (SC Media, 2019), and the National Capital Deal of the Year Award for a NASDAQ IPO under $100M (ACG National Capital Chapter, USA, 2010).

Vladimir Plotean
Co-founder. Chief Technology Officer
Vladimir has over 20 years of experience designing, architecting, and delivering complex software systems, spanning mobile applications, backend platforms, and large-scale cloud infrastructure across the finance, enterprise software, and healthcare sectors. His work has focused on building resilient, high-performance systems operating in security- and compliance-critical environments.
​
At organisations including Nokia and Goldman Sachs, Vladimir led the development of enterprise platforms and mobile trading applications handling multi-million-dollar transactions. His responsibilities covered end-to-end system architecture and engineering execution, as well as code quality governance and comprehensive penetration testing, ensuring that systems met the highest standards of security, scalability, and regulatory compliance.

In recent years, Vladimir has worked extensively in healthcare technology, delivering software solutions supporting the treatment of eating disorders, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. This work required close alignment between technology, clinical workflows, and patient needs, giving him deep practical insight into medical data security, privacy, and the operational realities of healthcare environments.

Across both regulated financial systems and sensitive healthcare applications, Vladimir brings a consistent focus on secure-by-design architecture, robust engineering execution, and systems that perform reliably at scale. He holds a MSc in Informatics from BabeÈ™-Bolyai University.
